Groomsmen

They say you save the best for last, so you all get the groomsmen first.  The bridesmaids are to follow.

The best man: My brother, Brian Hummel

My younger much bigger brother is one of a kind.  He has a passionate heart and cares deeply about helping others. This comes across in his very noble profession as an Occupational Therapist helping children and service veterans.  He never misses an opportunity to hold his noble job over my head.  That and the one of the hundreds of fights we had growing up that he actually won.  Though I still contend I would have won that fight if not for an poorly placed fish tank.  He always has an interesting opinion to share and is extremely competitive...it runs in the family.  I would not be the same without my "little bother" and I am thrilled he will be there to celebrate with us.

Groomsmen:
Alan Jenkins:  One of my best friends from college who fortunately lives in Charlotte.  This just means we embarrassingly try to relive our college experiences when Melissa and Alan's wife are not around.  He is the father of two wild and fun boys and anyone who knows Alan knows he is the perfect dad.  He is an unbelievably caring person who is always, as allowed, up for a drink to share a funny story, watch the Dawgs,  or laugh about life.  He also plays a mean late night guitar while wearing a Jimmy Hendrix wig.

Derick Cooper:  Another of my good friends from college.  He lives in Atlanta with his wife and his brand new daughter.  He loves his NC barbecue, the Dawgs and the Braves.  He is attorney and is a great confidant for ridiculous stories about our shared profession. He is also the best dumpster diver any of us have ever met. Derick is a wonderful friend who loves to share a good story and laugh.

Jeff Morman:  Another friend from college who lives in Atlanta.  Though it is rarely seen, Jeff has the most unique dance move of anyone I know.   Jeff has a uniquely deep passion for friendship which comes across to anyone who meets him.  He has a true heart, will always be there a friend and has an unmistakable laugh.   I will never forget our hunt for a Christmas tree my freshman year at Georgia.

Bill Moor:  What can I say about Bill...he is Willy Tilly.  Bill has a passion for life that few share and is ridiculously contagious.  He loves the outdoors, deep conversations about serious or trivial matters and tailgating for college basketball.  Bill and I have had many adventures, from taking the wrong trail over multiple mountains in New Hampshire to sneaking into GA-FL.  There are very few people in this world who I would rather share a beer with while discussing the intricacies of life, big and small.

Winters Richwine:  The most serious, hardest working, responsible friend I have ever had who also shares a very dry sense of humor.  Winters is always there to take care of a friend in need and then make a joke at a friend's precarious position.  It is this unusual dynamic that makes him such a wonderful and fun person.   I, and most of us, owe Winters for more than a few times he was the responsible one and made us laugh.  He can also probably tell you every Braves batting average for the better part of the 90s and has the best Halloween costumes.

James Abruzzini:  My roommate throughout law school.  A three-time Tarheel, James will be the most educated of the groomsmen.  James was raised a Gator and dates a Dookie (how North Carolinians recognize students at that gothic monstrosity populated by former New Jersey residents near Chapel Hill).  The fact that we are even friends speaks volumes.  He is a wonderful friend who is always in for some fun.

Jacob Isleib:  Melissa's sister Maribeth's fiance.  Jacob loves the outdoors, fishing, good beer and making jokes at UNC's expense.  He is deeply caring person and I could not be happier that we will be in the same extended family.  Jacob is extremely engaging and anyone who meets him feels like they are with an old friend.  We are so thankful he will be there to celebrate with us.
